Author Michael Campbell will discuss and sign copies of his book “Walt Disney’s Trains: A Grand Circle Tour through His Life and Legacy” on Sunday, Oct. 12 at 2 p.m. in the Civic Center Library Storytime Room, 1188 S. Livermore Ave. Registration is not required to attend this free program for adults. “Walt Disney’s Trains: A Grand Circle Tour through His Life and Legacy” will be published on October 14. Pre-publication copies may be purchased exclusively at waltdisney.org. Copies purchased from other retail outlets will be available on October 14. “Walt Disney’s Trains” reveals a part of Disney’s life that, although not widely known, is nevertheless well documented, exploring how railroading influenced Disney’s films, theme parks, and personal life, as well as how Disney, in turn, influenced the perception of railroading in America. Michael Campbell is a recognized authority on Walt Disney’s love of trains and how it influenced the modern world. He has curated this inspiring story through exhibitions at Disneyland and museums including the State Railroad Museums of California and Nevada. Campbell shares Walt’s tale through national media, his YouTube series “Once Upon a Train,” and at venues including Disney parks and Pixar Animation Studios.
