Changemaker Speaker Series: Albert Lin — In Search of Lost Cities

Credit:

Join us for an unforgettable evening with National Geographic Explorer Albert Lin as he shares his personal and scientific journey in In Search of Lost Cities , part of the 2025 Changemaker Speaker Series at the Blackhawk Museum. Albert Lin is a modern explorer at the intersection of science, storytelling, and technology. From the deserts of Mongolia to the jungles of Central America, Lin has unearthed ancient civilizations using tools like satellite imagery, drones, and lidar scanning—offering a new lens through which we understand our shared past. But Lin’s most profound discovery came after a life-altering accident in 2016. Following the loss of his leg, he embraced advanced prosthetics and pushed the limits of human resilience—blurring the line between man and machine. His story is one of innovation, determination, and the relentless human spirit. Through breathtaking imagery and powerful storytelling, Lin will take the audience behind the scenes of his expeditions, from the search for Genghis Khan’s tomb to uncovering hidden Maya cities beneath dense rainforest canopies. Thursday, September 18, 2025 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM (includes 15-minute audience Q&A) Blackhawk Museum, Danville, CA Whether you’re passionate about history, science, exploration, or simply love a great story, this talk will inspire you to see the world—and yourself—in new ways.
